After a hiatus, uju Records is back with a comet-like EP. The record features Shubostars Galaxy Walker Original Mix, along with a remix by the legendary Italo Disco artist, Italo Brutalo. Shubostars signature warmth and unique retro sound are now realized on a grand scale. The image of a lone pilgrim walking through the vastness of space comes to mind. His journey is filled with freezing snowstorms, mysterious and beautiful galaxies, and chaotic cosmic dust. Yet, the pilgrim presses on, undeterred by the hardships. The distinctive artwork by Daryung Kim is also striking. A young boy calmly walks through a neon blue universe, which I believe represents the true essence of the pilgrim-a journey set out with pure will. Italo Brutalos remix takes the original mix to a faster beat, with more elaborate drum sounds, making it more dancefloor-friendly. The free-spirited vintage synth sounds he adds evoke the playful, innocent nature of a boy at play. We hope you enjoy a joyful space journey with uju Records long-awaited new EP, Galaxy Walker!

Antoni Maiovvi is an artist like few others. Knights of New Haven summarises his unique ability and unparalleled range. This return to the Bordello reflects the influence of the West Coast Sound of the Netherlands as well as that machine music of his adopted home of the U.S. Later Not Lately bends bars above a throbbing kick, hi-hats ruffling the clean arcs of string. Echoes of Chicago and Detroit penetrate the EP. Melting melodies fold and oscillate under the crashing cymbals of Slack Blabbath, staggered synthlines jolted by tight percussion patterns. A brother-in-arms opens the flip, Danny Wolfers drafted in under his Legowelt moniker to turn his magic to Later Not Lately. Undulating undertones are sliced by serrated snares before a sordid TB303 is unsheathed, Wolfers soulful and squalid retelling of the original. The Madness in the Method closes. Fizzing static blurs drum patterns, a taut note piercing the dense bass fog. Teetering between the profound and the profane, Maiovvi pivots his horror disco trademark sound with driving house drums and devil-may-care grandeur. An EP of epic proportions.

Basements, the latest release by Sian and Bobby Nourmand featuring the evocative vocals of David LeSal, is a visceral ode to the unfiltered spirit of the early rave era. Forged in the depths of hedonistic warehouse parties and pulsing downtown basements, the track embodies the raw rebellion of a time when dance music was counterculture. LeSals haunting vocals echo through smoke-filled 90s rave floors, while Sian and Nourmand unleash gritty basslines and relentless boogie energy. Elevating the release even further, Joyce Muniz delivers a stunning remix steeped in Italo influences, layering hypnotic arpeggios over a deeply emotive structure. Basements is a double - edged masterpiece - one part raw groove, one part shimmering nostalgia.
Hot on the heels of A Promise In The Cold Night, LVCA returns to Bordello A Parigi with The Wanderer. Building on his diverse and unique style, genre cross-pollination sits at the heart of this four tracker. Renowned for his analogue live sets, LVCAs passion for the machine smoulders on this EP. Acid, electro and new beat are central tenets, with the synthesizer taking centre stage. A litany of influences is drawn upon. Crashing snares countered by bright bars, melodic swirls threatened by machined vocals, drum rolls and key stabs marking shifts of intent. Speaker cones conjure late night basements, darker shades churn and melt in the fog and strobe. And throughout, genres and styles converge. Chicago house thaws the frigid severity of wave, italo echoes offering a distant warmth against colder tones taking hold. A 12 that illustrates the dynamic depth and the vibrancy of a true talent.
Öona Dahl, an interdimensional artist known for her eclectic, cosmic soundscapes is making her return to Watergate Records. Following the success of her acclaimed Godtripper EP from 2020, the US-based DJ, producer and visualist is back to showcase a multifaceted musical vision with the High Priestesses EP. With this new release, Öona Dahl expands her sonic universe presenting three distinct versions of the title track. The original sets the tone in a progressive techno fashion with its slightly dark but driving atmosphere. Get Higher morphs the energy with a dynamic twist into melodic techno territory, while Neo Trance dives deeper into the promise hinted at by the tracks addendum. Each version reflects a different facet of her creative identity, offering listeners a complete journey through her artistic sphere. To complete the package, Öona Dahl has invited Mexican producer Theus Mago to contribute his unique touch with two exclusive remixes. The Chords Remix channels the spirit of old-school electronica with a subtle, understated groove, while the second remix takes a more contemporary approach, infusing cut-up vocals and a more ravey energy. Together, these reinterpretations round off the EP, making it a versatile addition to the dancefloor and beyond.

His impressive reworking amplifies the tracks energy, adding a hypnotic depth that makes it both familiar and entirely new. Pavel Petrov is back on EXE Audio with his own twist of a song that has defined a whole generation. The idea came to me randomly from a girl I met at the seaside. She asked me, Can you do a remix of Back to Black? I thought, Hmm, not a bad idea actually. That summer, I was living by the sea in my improvised studio, so I started experimenting. It didnt take long until I found the right groove and melody. Shortly after, I returned to my studio at EXE CLUB in Sofia, where I did the first mixdowns. It was done! The best thing about this track is its impact—it works on every dancefloor, whether in a big room or a small club.
Pets Recordings shakes things up with another exciting label debut. UK producer SAHAR, celebrated for his unique, vocal-led productions on labels including Sum Over Histories, Isolate, Me Me Me, and Exit Strategy, storms onto the Pets roster with his brand-new Shakin EP - a two-track journey packed with seismic energy and unmistakable groove. Leading the charge is the sinister electronic strut of the title track, Shakin. Crafted as a bold announcement to the dancefloor, the track has already proven itself in SAHARs sets. I made Shakin because my sets usually have my own vocals as a theme, but I wanted something that felt like a direct message to the crowd, SAHAR explains. I thought it would suit the early stages of a night, but it ended up being my closing track for most of 2024 - its got that perfect sign-off energy. On the flip is, How U Feeling? a track that takes inspiration from the fleeting sensations and energy of the dancefloor. I made How U Feeling? just after ADE, says SAHAR. I heard a DJ play a track on the crane, loved it, and asked what it was. Unfortunately, I forgot to make a note of it, so the knowledge was lost forever. Back in the studio, he worked on recreating the vibe from memory and, having been especially drawn to the energy of the heavily distorted female vocal chops, created his own. Im thrilled with how it turned out, even if Ill never know how close I got to the original inspiration. SAHARs Shakin EP drops on February 21st on Pets Recordings. Prepare to feel the rumble on the dancefloor.

The enigmatic Ashee comes back to Life and Death with two electrifying peak time anthems. Frisbee is a dazzling tribute to Italo-disco and the unapologetic lead synth melodies of 80s dance music. Its hypnotic hook, reminiscent of I Feel Love, dances up and down the scales, weaving seamlessly with a rumbling garage-style reese bass. The result is an unexpected and thrilling cocktail designed to act on dancefloors like gas and fire. The bold Fortuna blends a monstrous 90s hip-hop-inspired bassline with a chaotic frenzy of layered percussion. The result is an unclassifiable carnival-like banger - perfect for massive sound systems, wild street parties, chaotic street parties, and clearly designed to be played way too loud. Ashees sound pulls no punches. Eschewing subtlety for raw impact, its music that slams into you and doesnt look back. With a punk ethos at its core, Ashee fuses sinister 90s techno grit, euphoric rave highs, and chest-thumping garage basslines - like the growl of a souped-up Vauxhall Corsa tearing through the night past neon-lit kebab shops.
Jason Peters, the visionary behind Roam Recordings, returns with his latest EP, Its Ok to Be Sad. This release is a dynamic journey through emotional soundscapes, blending high-energy beats with introspective undertones. Opening the EP, Satellites is an homage to Jasons formative years in the underground rave scene of the 90s. The track captures the raw, pulsating energy of warehouse parties with its heavy hitting drums underpinning wild electronic noises. The title track takes a reflective turn with its distinctive goth disco vibe. Echoing the moodiness of the cover art—clouds tinged with subtle brightness—this piece intertwines elements of joy and sorrow, creating a captivating emotional contrast. Adding a fresh dimension, Moderna returns to Roam Recordings to lend her unique touch. Her remix infuses the original with haunting vocals, 80s-inspired snares, and atmospheric reverb, amplifying the tracks melancholic essence. Art by Cristina Capetillo.

Across two mammoth, critically acclaimed compilations Berlin-based Musician and DJ Curses Next Wave Acid Punx series has shone a blacklight onto the darker side of club music. Featuring tracks from the 1970s right up to the present day made by both musical legends and up and coming talents alike, Curses has expertly threaded the needle between Experimental Pop, Post Punk, EBM, Electro, Techno and more to produce a stunning alternative history of clubland. But, as every good digger knows, theres always more gems to uncover and so once again Curses has crowbarred open the electronic musics vaults to bring us four more long forgotten tracks, each one Revamped for maximum Dancefloor effect with Curses himself providing 2 edits alongside precision tooled reworks from Melbourne based Stockholm Syndrome and NYCs Andi. First up from Curses is his Revamp of Deborah Sassons (Carmen) Danger In Her Eyes, a curio from the wildly inventive mid late 80s that saw the American opera singer collaborate with German producers MCL (MicroChipLeague). A European chart topper on its original release, its long since languished in obscurity but in Curses hands is now ready to once again add more than a touch of melodrama to dancefloors. For his second edit, Curses reworks J.W.B. Hits The Beats House Fatale, having previously taken a razor to their Body On Body track on Next Wave Acid Punx DEUX. Originally released in 1988, House Fatale is a classic example of just how fast electronic music was evolving back then, bringing together elements of Electro, Freestyle, House and more amongst a riot of samples, all elements Curses retains whilst nudging the tempo and giving the track a harder edge. Sticking with the same Westside label that gave us House Fatale, Stockholm Syndrome turns his attention to Voyous Houseman. Or, as it happens, the 1988 edit by LAs Razormaid that first honed its edges for club play and merged the title track with its b-side. The resulting edit rejuvenates this classic slice of late Cold War club music, its pounding beat, portentous strings and the repeated overdriven vocal refrain of Germany Calling perfect for basement clubs today, in Berlin and beyond. Finally to complete the EP we have sample-heavy 1988 cut Not Leaving Without Jerry by Belgian duo Mark Borgions & Jo Lijnen aka Philadelphia Five. Originally produced by Luc Van Acker, (better known for his work with the likes of Front 242, Ministry and Revolting Cocks), the track has been handed over to NYC producer Andi, who ups the tempo and hones in on the rhythm section, putting the focus on the staccato drums and throbbing bass line the focal point now and creating a perfect soundtrack for sweat lashed bodies. Together these four tracks revisit a moment in clubland when the rules were still being written, as Curses explains. This was a pivotal moment where all genres were still evolving, figuring out what sounds would eventually become staple elements of one another which gave it all this naive, innocent and punk feel. Youve got Trance arpeggios, those heavy snares of early EBM, chopped vocals in the style of Chicago and NY formative House music all mixed with Electrofunk and percussive Latin freestyle grooves. A time when we were dancing without boundaries, something very much in the spirit of Next Wave Acid Punx.
MCL, Deborah Sasson, Philadelphia Five, J.W.B. Hits The Beat, Voyou
Adolpho & Franky and their Folkor Club, as well as its in house Folklor Nation imprint has been an integral part of the Lausanne, Switzerland underground for many years now. Bringing a cosmic twist to contemporary Disco and House through their DJ sets, the clubs programming and the labels releases. Here the label revisits the duos Voices cut, with some fresh interpretations from artists across the globe. Berlins Biesmans leads and reworks the original cut with his own unique twist, infusing entrancing leads, unfurling arpeggios, bright stab sequences and crisp drums into the remix. Optimo Music and Skylax artist Facets out of NYC then strips things back to a fragments of the original a study arpeggio lead, a crunchy drum workout, and tension building breakdown. The Niv Ast Remix follows next and embraces a more psychedelic dubbed out feel, blending delayed atmospherics, heavily reverberated chords, squelchy acid licks and shuffled percussion throughout. PiMO then concludes the remix on a more classic disco house tip courtesy of intricately intertwined stabs and chords, guitar lines, funky bass grooves and an organic rhythm section.
The multi-faceted and multi-talented Alberto Melloni returns once more to Bordello A Parigi to unveil his musical multi-verse. Lago Lungo, the title piece, sets the tone for the quartet of tracks. Steady kicks thud next fizzing hi-hats as a rich and full-bodied piano melody takes hold, Mellonis instrumentation creating sheer peaks and creamy amber plains. Promised Land offers a different audio topography. Key stabs are bolstered by incising beats as a late-night italo infused romp undulates from speaker cones. Underscoring the EP are influences from both disco and house, sun-kissed chords countered by textured percussion. These twin inspirations combine in the groove laden Paradise Pie. Clean notes are refracted in neon, undercurrents of acid lurking just below the vibrating hardwood floor. The mirrorball takes the limelight for the finale. Breathy, smokey vocals orbit funk dipped lines of Only You, warbling vocoders dancing under the glittering beams to the close.
Happy welcome to Furotica, the new musical project of Furor Exotica. Rebirth Is Hardwired is a beautiful cosmic trip where the dancefloor is transported to the stars, thanks to a thunderous bassline and erotic-synthetic leads or pads. And to carry this definitively danceable track, the enigmatic voice gives a very perfect 80s side. There is no need to introduce one of the greatest contributors to the psychedelic italodisco scene, Franz Scala. Its remix, while respecting the soul of the original track, brings a more nostalgic side, sensitive and enchanting. As second man, the wave rider Kay-Chi is in charge. With acuity and talent, he gives a more body side to the piece. To close the remix series, Leitstrahl is back on the imprint. They drop all their musical sensitivity, between italodisco, laserdance and synthwave fields.

The bar is set high! Next, Berlins PCL steps in with I Want a Bad Girl, a track that fuses new wave and Italo disco. Expect a chunky bassline, shimmering 80s-style synth melodies, and irresistibly groovy rhythms. Dutch producer Laion turns up the intensity with an exquisite indie dance track that balances phat grooves, lush melodies, and beautifully layered harmonies. This ones guaranteed to leave its mark. Spanish duo Undo & Casiowaves take the mood in a different direction with their mesmerising electro-pop ballad. Melancholic yet uplifting, the track features vocals and guitars reminiscent of The Cure, creating an atmospheric lullaby that invites you to close your eyes and drift away. Berlins rising star Micropacer follows with a dazzling homage to Daft Punk. Featuring vocoded vocals, sleek synth arpeggios, classy bass transitions and an enchanting melody that lingers in your mind, Armin truly delivers. Switching gears, British producer Louis de Tomaso delivers Aurora, a powerful track that epitomises his signature style. Combine a hefty bassline, layered synth leads, lush pads, and an unrelenting rhythm, and you get a powerful, tension-filled piece rooted in EBM. Crossing the Channel, French producer Back From The Wave brings us Saturated Love, evoking the early sounds of Scratch Massive and The Hacker. Its a dark yet delicate track brimming with emotion and sonic depth. Another well-known French artist, Nhar, takes over with Subspace, a deep and captivating track driven by a strong offbeat bassline and sublime pads. Evoking Balearic sounds, its a piece that will transport you straight to Café del Mar. Finally, the compilation wraps up with label boss Beartrax himself, who delivers Discrepancy. Happy Birthday, Melodize!

HEARec proudly presents Valley of Kings, the latest electrifying release from Baltazart & Globemaster, marking the labels 70th edition with an evocative homage to the mystery of ancient royalty. This EP invites listeners into a world where rhythms echo through time, from the depths of the Nile to the resonance of a dark underground. The EPs three originals-Valley of Kings, King Tut, and KV62-are soundscapes that pulse with allure, layered in shadow and history. Valley of Kings opens the experience with a hypnotic beat that guides listeners like a torch through long-lost corridors. King Tut drives forward with an enthralling rhythm that hints at secrets uncovered, while KV62 closes the trio with a bassline as deep and cryptic as the tomb itself. Adding to the EPs allure, remixers Mijo and Amunet inject their distinctive energy into the originals, each delivering a transformative take that amplifies the mystique and power of these tracks. Mijos remix pulses with rebellious energy, while Amunets interpretation adds layers of texture, like echoes through ancient stone.

Oppaacha is returning to Diynamic for his second EP this year, called „Oxygen. Title track „Oxygen is like being on a military submarine - racing under the cover of darkness, high pressure, receiving commands, tensions rising - you can hear your own heartbeat. „Like That feat. Borey is a bubblegum-chewing girl who really doesnt care what you have to say - shes just here to have fun, so shut up and let her dance. And „True feat. Prana Flow sends you the morse code - can you decipher the message?
Acidité is a track I produced during a very quick session in my Marseilles studio in late 2023. I think the idea was to produce dance tracks that would have a certain harshness to them and sound sort of unpolished. I realize that is what I end up liking the most when it comes to dance music - when it sounds as being straight out of the home studio, with very little means and maybe some « mistakes » left here and there for the sake of it. Acidité revolves around 3 main ingredients - a Behringer TD3 riff (the Behringer cheap reincarnation of the legendary TB303), a conga loop and an iconic JB funk stab sample. It segues midway into a more trancey and motoric tunnel like techno track, driven by a « lately bass » straight line.
Fred Ventura and Rafal Lachmirowicz, aka Also Playable Mono, have teamed up, All We Need being the pairings audio vision of italo disco. Steady kicks and cascading cowbells pave the way for an infectious synthline before a vocoder-enveloped Ventura smoulders with a burning intensity. Bold chords and pulsating rhythms are at the robotic heart of System Breakdown On Wikileaks. Bombastic and brilliant, this electrified disco dreadnaught swings with the power of a wrecking ball; a power that only amplifies the tracks impacting message of our very civilisations future. Scaling notes spiral ever higher in the addictive groove of In The Night, A.P.Monos computerised words adopting the mantle of his machines. Circling samples introduce The News. Rhythms are clean and tight, snapping at the tails of soaring synthwork with Venturas smoky social commentary, coupled with the silken and sonorous Chelsea Muller, offering something better for us all.
Hardware obsessives CYRK have previously been remixed by label head Jorkes and contributed a standout track to Queer Base vol.2 back in Spring. With those and other releases they have fomented a signature sound that blends techno with Italo. It draws on their skills in the live arena as well as a deep-rooted chemistry and love for rave music in all its forms. Superb opener Peek A Boo is a love-drenched sound with bright Italo melodies and smeared pads. There is widescreen cosmic energy in the melodies while the dusty mid-tempo house drums bounce at an inviting pace. New Millenium is another retro-future trip to the stars with a mix of bright, busy keys and more rugged synth lines. The drums are snappy and tinged with early Chicago rawness, which means that this classy and emotive party starter makes a real impact. The magical and bubbly Euphoria is a more serene sound with thought-provoking chords suspending you above the analogue drums and acid-tinged bassline as wispy melodies bring things to life in HD colour. It is a pleasure to welcome Peaces, the project by Rizki S. Djanegara coming all the way from Jakarta, Indonesia. Captivated by the sound of new wave, disco, rock and post-punk, Peaces music explores and seamlessly blends these styles and beyond without any boundaries. Presenting an ethereal mantra like EP, a sonic adventure to forgotten lands. The two originals provide evocative dark and pulsating atmospheres with a raw edge and energy. A distilled blend of rock with ritualistic and exotic hints. In remix duties his good friend also hailing from Jakarta Indonesia, Arvin Fajar takes Poised Ranger spicing it up, with a bouncy and hypnotic energy. Ghostly voices and fast percussion combined with a steady bassline result in a relentless trip. Wrapping up the EP comes JGR who needs no introduction, an important member of the labels family at this point. Taking Hour Strike and converting it into a frenetic travel with his signature acid groovy synths, sticky basslines and a touch of perfectly arranged raw beats. Culminating in a pumped up killer of a remix.
