A noughties classic, an earworming anthem, an eventual schoolyard ringtone favourite; Roman Flügels once inescapable Gehts Noch? celebrates turning 21 on Running Back, refreshed and remixed by a scene-spanning set of artists paying keen tribute to its absurdist energy. Casually released as part of a Cocoon Records compilation in 2004, Gehts Noch? rose from the depths with the support of Sven Väth, becoming an international phenomenon, conquering and uniting the dominant scenes of minimal and electroclash alike. Some have said it laid the foundations for the Dirty Dutch house scene, albeit from over the border in Germany. Well known for injecting much-needed levity into the contemporary club landscape via her Live From Earth parties, DJ Gigola adds additional firepower to Gehts Noch?, inducing a planet-shaking kick drum, before sending the tracks signature bleeps into nonsensical Morse code for even greater pleasure. Another rave culture connoisseur, Luca Lozano, offers two alternate takes; his Technocs mix rolls deep with additional cowbells, robotic voice commands and stadium-sized claps. Meanwhile, the Gehts Garage Remix draws a savvy connection with the originals as-yet-untapped UK funky potential. Peder Mannerfelt, who straddles the line between innovation, functionality, humor and seriousness quite like its original author, takes Gehts Noch? to truly wuthering heights. His remix builds unexpected drama and catharsis around the enduring riff, before a collaboration with studio partner Par Grindvik as Aasthma spins the club out with a glossy, anime-tinted take, full of whimsy and colour. And while the digital release of Gehts Noch? also spans interpretations from Audion, Domnik Eulberg & Moguai, this vinyl release presses Steve Angello vs Whos Who remix to wax, that which helped take Gehts Noch? out of the underground and into the stratosphere. Twenty years on, and Flügels offbeat hit is always ascending. Love it or hate it, Gehts Noch? will still get you good. words by John Loveless

THEUS MAGO DEBUTS FIRST FULL- LENGTH ALBUM MUN/SEA AFTER A DECADE-LONG JOURNEY A playful yet profound sonic odyssey that chronicles the evolution of an artist and father After ten years of shaping dance floors with his distinctive sound, Mexican producer Theus Mago unveils MUN/SEA, his long- awaited debut album. This milestone release marks a significant evolution for the project that began in 2014 amid the vibrant electronic music scene of Paris. MUN/SEA represents a departure from Theus Magos previously darker sonic palette, offering a more expansive journey through the artists diverse influences. The album effortlessly navigates between genres-from the innocently exuberant Do Androids Dream Of Dinosaurs? to the pulsating energy of rave anthem The F-Train, seamlessly blending techy house rhythms with techno-infused indie dance moments. Mateo, the person behind Theus Mago, describes the album as a disguised homage to his three-year-old son, who contributes vocals on the track Kuni Kuni. This personal connection is behind the albums colorful, playful aesthetic, reflecting the emotional spectrum of parenthood itself. The album has its ups and downs, its bright moments and dark moments. Just like parenthood, explains Mateo. Vocal elements feature prominently throughout MUN/SEA, with cinematic inspirations and spoken word passages creating depth between the beats. While primarily crafted using digital production tools, the album is subtly enriched by carefully placed modular synthesizer recordings. The Theus Mago project emerged during Mateos time in Paris, where he absorbed the citys distinctive electronic landscape shaped by artists like David Shaw and The Beat, La Mverte, Yan Wagner, and Its a Fine Line. A decade later, MUN/SEA, an album produced mostly in Mexico City, stands as both a testament to those formative influences and a bold statement of artistic evolution.

Gleb Filipchenkow debuts on Somethingnus Gnubox series - a space for proper songs and cinematic music - with the dreamy disco-infused track Stay Awake, a thousand-nights anthem for dancefloor romantics. On remix duties, Phunkadelica flips the original into a housey, rave-tinged journey, perfect for late-night trips. And the Gnu goes on!
Aaron Suiss and Robbie Akbal come together for a smooth yet powerful collaboration. Unreal was born during a laid-back afternoon studio session in Koh Phangan, Thailand. In just one take, they created a track with a trippy vibe—hypnotic basslines, groovy drum patterns, spaced-out arps and synths, plus a striking speech on psychedelics. Unreal feels like the perfect soundtrack for a deep journey through sound and space. https://www.instagram.com/aaronsuissofficial/ https://www.instagram.com/robbieakbal/ https://soundcloud.com/suissofficial https://soundcloud.com/robbie_akbal https://www.instagram.com/midnightridersmusic/ https://soundcloud.com/midnight-riders-music
Made By Pete joins forces with Mexican trio Secret Echoes on In My Head to celebrate the launch of his new label Life In Colour. The colour in our lives comes from our experiences. Sometimes happy and joyful sometimes sad or challenging. Its the variety that keeps things interesting and challenges us to develop our own stories. Making music or any type of art is an expression of ourselves in that moment, we never quite know what is going to come out at any given time. Life In Colour as a record label is about celebrating this creative chaos and embracing it. MBP In My Head sees Made By Pete collaborate with live act Secret Echoes. Both artists picked up coveted Essential New Tunes from Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 in 2024 and their collaboration is a great example of two styles combining to create something new and fresh. Out 30th May on Life in Colour.
In celebration of 10 years since the release of his acclaimed debut album Age of Anxiety Rodney Cromwell drops a glowed-up version of a personal favourite from the album, minimal synth bop One Two Seven. One Two Seven; is an unapologetic paean to vintage synth disco; 127 being the classic BPM for the original disco music of the 1970s. The new redux mix, cranks up the Moroder-esque arpeggios and disco handclaps; while retaining influences of the early 80s electronica, notably the octave jump bassline from floor-fillers like Blue Monday. The song closes with analogue Moog synth-solos from Happy Robots label-mate Alice Hubble. On its release in March 2015, Rodney Cromwells Age of Anxiety looked like it was going to slip under the radar. But after it was picked up by Gideon Coe and Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music and then the NME, the album started to find significant momentum with bloggers, radio stations and fans of synth-music who appreciated his caustic lyrics and authentic lo-fi sound. By the end of 2015 the album featured in 15 Best of Lists, twice taking the no1 slot and featuring in the celebrated Electronic Sound Magazine Top 30 Albums of 2015. Since the release of Age of Anxiety, Cromwell has also been featured by the likes of Huffington Post, Paste, Record Collector, Shindig!, Louder Than War, Big Takeover, Magic RPM and the Bandcamp homepage with national radio play across the globe, not least with further spins on BBC 6 Music, RNE3 in Spain and RTE in Ireland. His most recent album Memory Box also featured in the Electronic Sound Magazine albums of the year list. The Rodney Cromwell live set is a joyful mixed-media extravaganza, incorporating battered synths, video visuals and live instrumentation, interjected by Rodneys offbeat wit (NME). His debut festival appearance was described as like a spiritual experience. Bands he has played with include A Flock of Seagulls, Pram, Death & Vanilla, M!R!M, Damo Suzuki, Steve Davis and Blancmange. He has recorded live sessions for Electronic Sound and RNE3.
Gleaming with handmade DIY synth chimes, syncopated drum machine drills, loping Hooky-like basslines, and the otherworldly resonance of the Persian santoor - an instrument now synonymous with the Electric Litany sound; Diamonds is an understated gem from the London four-piece. As complexly faceted as it is sparklingly polished, it finds the band distilling the primordial post-punk thrills of early Cure or New Order, via the modern pop productions of the here-and-now to create something both familiar and enigmatic, nostalgic and contemporary, all at once.
Gianluca Servetti aka Hey Cabrera! from Turin is back for round two on Frank Music, and hes not holding back. Exposed is a turbo-charged blast of pure Italo heat: irresistible vocals, pianos that hit even harder, and enough summer-night magic to light up every dance floor from Rimini to Berlin. When it comes to the Johannes Albert club mix - known in Italy as Giovanni Francesco Alberto - we gladly welcome a splash of 808s for that extra groove. Mille grazie, Gianluca! The power of Italo Disco - often imitated, never duplicated.
Daniel Monaco and John Noseda join forces for Alektra, a new project born out of a deep love for Hi-NRG and raw 808 sounds. Renowned for their dj sets, trips that delve into tropical obscurities, Chicago jack and Rimini romances, the pair have channelled a unique blend of untamed house and shimmering italo melodies into pure dancefloor euphoria. Their debut release, Shake Your Body, drops on Bordello A Parigi. Neon synthwork is punctured by clean punches of percussion, scaling melodies set firmly in the golden analogue era. Key stabs drive the track with Only Bees honeyed lyrics pushing the energy levels higher. In true 1980s anthem form, the flip is dedicated to the instrumental with the synthesizers and their hypnotic melodies taking centre stage: Alektras machines smouldering with fiery intensity. That same intensity closes, Only Bees mellifluous vocals given the limelight for the acapella close. Dancefloor definitions redefined. Welcome to Alektra.
Music that refuses to play nice, Bad Behavior delivers a raw, unapologetic rush straight from the underground. Third Culture and Renato Cohen carve out an exciting new space. With jagged indie dance and minimalist old school house sounds that build like a pressure cooker. Theres an irresistible energy in this collaboration - pure, unfiltered, visceral, and impossible to ignore. A track built to erase everything but the rhythm, Just Keep Dancing grips from the first beat and doesnt let up. Third Culture and Renato Cohen deliver a hypnotic, driving groove - a perfect balance of precision and abandon, where spiky synths punctuate a sea of deep, rumbling bass. David LeSals vocal doesnt just float above the track, it weaves in and out like a mantra, urging you forward with its repeating hook. Theres no space for anything but movement here - an immersive, body-locking journey that trades in restraint and repetition, pulling you into its feverish spell until the dancefloor is the only world that exists.
Eitan Reiter advances his exploratory sound through his boundary-pushing label Impulse. The fifth release, X-Vision, features rising artist Echo, whose recent collaborations cements her as an artist to watch. This release reflects a deliberate shift toward the intersection of Indie dance and electronic body music, balancing sharp production with a distinct vocal presence. The track channels visual and sonic cues from 1990s aesthetics—an era that continues to shape contemporary fashion, design, and audio culture. X-Vision builds on that foundation, merging mechanical rhythm structures with textured synth layers and Echos stylized vocal delivery. Her performance moves fluidly between raw expression and spoken word, while vocoder-filtered harmonies and modulated voice samples lend the piece a synthetic edge. The release includes two versions of X-Vision, each offering a distinct entry point into its sound world. The vocal version foregrounds Echos lyrical delivery, structured around rhythmically anchored verses and refrains. In contrast, the second cut strips the track down to its instrumental core, emphasizing the production details to emerge more clearly—synth arpeggios, processed laughter, fragmented phrases— transforming the piece into a more exploratory, hypnotic experience. Both versions complement each other as two sides of the same vision—one vocal and immediate, the second internal and atmospheric. Together, they highlight their commitment to releasing music that resists easy classification while maintaining the purpose of the label Impulse.
Volt Recordings launches its debut with Dance United EP, a release that marks the beginning of the labels vision shaped by the legacy of Milans iconic club, Volt. Focused on contemporary, club-driven sounds, this first chapter reflects a commitment to quality, innovation, and strong artistic identity. The EP introduces Still.i, a Volt resident whose original track channels the clubs energy into a precise, functional production. Dance United unfolds with stripped-down grooves and a sharp rhythmic structure, offering a hypnotic, floor-oriented experience rooted in modern club culture. Gerd Janson delivers a masterfully constructed remix that highlights his signature touch: rich, layered textures, warm basslines, and a soulful groove. His version recontextualizes the original into something timeless and deeply resonant, bridging classic and contemporary with effortless style.
Solardo are one of the UKs strongest club acts. The self-styled musical chameleons have created massive hits (Move Your Body, XTC) and smashed it on the big stages (Glastobury, Tomorrowland, EDC). Having concquered House and Tech House over the past 5 years, they hit 2025 with a twist. Outta Space samples the same Max Romeo classic (Chase The Devil, cleared before Romeos passing) that the Prodigy did. However, while the concept has been done before, Solardo bring the vocal up to date with a bang, delivering the kind of synth-propelled, bass-bouncing club track that fits in with Max Styler and Solomuns Indie Dance sound. Released in time for Ibiza openings, this is a huge island anthem in waiting, we can hear this one working venues vast and small over the summer. A scorcher.
Following the recent success of Starting Something and SKWEAK, Kinetika Music proudly returns with a powerful remix package that elevates the originals to new heights. This time, label favorites Samet Gunal, Twiins, and Nowa (Cy) are joined by two of the most respected names in the electronic music scene: Echonomist and Alican. These heavyweight producers have delivered transformative reworks-infusing the originals with their signature sound, emotional depth, and club-ready intensity. Echonomists remix of Starting Something takes listeners on a hypnotic journey with deep, driving grooves and atmospheric textures, while Alicans interpretation of SKWEAK pushes the energy with a raw, tech-forward edge.
With Already Won, Joep Mencke ventures into new territory, bringing a housier, indie-dance-infused sound to the forefront of his expanding musical universe. Known for his organic sound and emotional depth, Joep now explores a different side of himself - turning up the energy with a three-track EP designed to move both body and soul. The EP kicks off with Already Won - a bold statement track driven by funky piano stabs, a deep indie-house rhythm, and a soulful vocal hook. A celebration of self-belief, the track radiates the confidence of someone who knows theyre exactly where theyre meant to be. Out of My Mind dives into late-night territory, where hypnotic vocals, bright stabs, and a driving beat invite full surrender - a soundtrack for letting go and getting lost in the moment. Disco Driver wraps up the EP with playful, retro-tinged flair. Anchored by a rolling bass-line, staccato strings, and triumphant brass, it blends disco nostalgia with indie-dance energy, made for euphoric dance-floor moments. Already Won is Joep Mencke stepping beyond boundaries and exploring his creative expressions while staying grounded in emotional storytelling.
The greatest collaboration weve seen since Bing Crosby & David Bowie blasted out their lungs on Little Drummer Boy! Our very own Chris Massey joins forces with long time Sprechen supporters and closest musical colleagues Supernature for a mighty fine slice of yessmate acid disco chug. Taken from our forthcoming 10 year anniversary compilation, Walk...Now Walk is a 303 powered rework of a discotheque classic (originally by a certain 6ft drag queen) which has been firmly put through the Massey makeover machine. The result is packing bags of sleaze & sass with a lead vocal from Supernatures BB sat atop a bubbling blast of acid lines, interwoven with relentless chuggy low end energy and hypnotic synth lines peppered throughout. A perfect transition tune for when the need is there to switch things up from toe tapping to some serious shoulder jerking action...its a biggie!
Eardmann is a true trailblazer—a traveler in search of ever-new paths, both metaphorically and literally. On his field studies between Jeju Island and Lake Titisee, he accidentally landed his first release on the New Work and Corporate Well-Being label Way to France. Spanning the space between House and Italo Disco, the debut of this Renaissance personality unfolds. Additional features come from Jiin Yoon (M1) and Brauer & Stein (B1). A slow-burning trip through late-night delirium, these tracks simmer with understated power. With an electric energy pulling you forward, Oysher sculpts a pulsing framework of rolling sub-bass and clipped percussion, where spectral vocal loops dissolve into the haze like echoes from a past life. Its trancey, furious, and built for those moments when time starts to blur.
Its fair to say that in the hotly contested field of country tinged, equine themed underground club music this year has been all about Kate Stein & Lord Fascinators Horse House. With its galloping hypnotic house beat, pulsating synths and lonesome guitar twangs, it was always a clear favourite but even as clubs around the world are still echoing to frenzied chants of theres a horse in this house, Eskimo Recordings have introduced some competition with 3 new remixes courtesy of Fabrizio Mammarella, Hammer and Captain E. Leading the chasing pack is Italian DJ, producer and label boss Fabrizio Mammarella. With over two decades of releases under his belt on labels such as DFA, Permanent Vacation and his own Slow Motion Records, Fabrizio has solid form and saddles up to take us on the last horse to Trancentral, delivering a stunning remix that sees the tracks vocal refrain canter over killer club beats and a mesmerising synth riff. This is certainly no one horse rave though and coming up close on the inside is Belfast producer Hammer whose sabre sharp remix thunders along with a looping acid bass line and echoing percussion before it all dissolves into a blissful wash of warm pads evoking the wide open starry skies of Texas (or perhaps County Down) before the beat comes crashing back in to carry us over the line. Finally bringing up the rear but with the bit between his teeth is Eskimo Recordings own Captain E whose remix cracks the whip, upping the tempo and pairing its warehouse ready beats with rave stabs, a frisky bass line and just the occasional horse snort for good measure.
Paradise + acid = Paradacid. Paradacid is a two-part EP that blends the gritty sounds of 303 and 808 machines with the euphoria of warehouse raves and the ambiance of virtual landscapes and Final Fantasy soundtracks. This EP combines introspective tracks from periods of isolation with uplifting ones from moments of release, offering a diverse sonic experience without pushing a narrative. Its up to the listener to find their own meaning within the vibrant mix of old and new. The essence of Paradacid lies in its name - a blend of paradise and acid, symbolizing the fusion of blissful soundscapes with the sharp, distinctive edges of acid house and electro.
