This is some serious skank-out business that selectors and listeners alike need in their collection. For licensing & label enquiries, please contact Martin Flex: martin@hotcakesmusic.com

No introduction needed for the next artist joining the Transparent Audio Family, Ukrainian producer – Dub Head. Were incredibly excited to showcase this release from an artist whos become a staple within the scene. Known for his signature Bristol-style rollers, Dub Head masterfully blends funky grooves with melodic progressions to create a sound all his own. Originally from the vibrant city of Kyiv, Ukraine, and now based in Bristol, Dub Heads musical journey began in 2013. Since then, hes been relentlessly refining his craft, building a unique sonic landscape where deep, dramatic elements seamlessly mix with powerful, experimental motifs. Having released music on some of the scenes most respected labels, including Sofa Sound, perhaps best known for his track Jellyfish. He also reached a major milestone in his career with the release of his debut album Bring You Back Online on Dispatch Recordings. Were equally excited to feature the beautiful voice of Kathryn Brenna on the title track, Waves. Kathryn is a close friend of the label, and its been a long time coming for our paths to cross musically. Kathryn is a multi-genre, self-taught musician, producer and songwriter who experiments with various acoustic tones and instruments, working with a number of renowned artists and labels in the underground scene. Prominent Austrian drum and bass producers Akov and IAMDOOMED will be names known to many, creating waves throughout the scene with their razor-sharp production and high-energy output for many years. Akov cites Octane & DLRs Method in the Madness as the album that got him into drum and bass, so it is a pleasure to present his debut Dispatch Recordings release. Akov explores the deeper end of his influences across two-tracks, including a collaboration with IAMDOOMED, an artist who has been developing a unique sonic identity since moving away from his previous neuro roots. The epic atmospherics of Sabotage contrast with a huge, rolling bassline, creating an infectious groove that rides throughout. Catalyst packs huge kicks and tough snares for a hard-stepping trip through warping bass and filtered sonics.
The mask had lain dormant for some time, a sacred relic hidden away within the temples labyrinthine depths. It lay in waiting for one who could bear its visage once more. For ages, there had been none of the constitution required to assume its otherworldly mantle. Many avaricious initiates to the faith had tried, only to watch in horror as their bodies were enervated by the masks mystical energies, crumbling into dust and death at the foot of the altar, atop which it did rest. The high priests of the temple sought its powers not, for they were of the wisdom to know that even their lifetimes of devotion would not grant them the masks power. Thus it was when the doors to the sanctum burst open to the cacophonous sounds of battle, and thus it was that the grand prelate of the temple grasped the mask in a moment of singular desperation. In an instant, the prelates skull was molded to fit the image of the mask, which suffused its metallic surface upon his face to replace the skin that had defined it since birth. The prelates eyes took on a hue of faded gold, and through his veins ran an amber blood that projected its radiance in rivulets upon his skin. As the first of the temples invaders set foot within the sanctum the prelate began chanting in a language he knew not, and before him the vigour was sapped from the brazen assailant, who soon crumpled under the weight of the armour that he wore. As the rest of the warband began to charge across the threshold of the sanctums door, the prelate gaze set their eyes ablaze with a heavenly fire that burst from their skulls whilst the incantations uttered by his droning voice turned the attackers swords upon themselves. In only a moment, the invaders fell defeated upon the temple floor, their bodies dissolving into dust before the power of the masks MYTHIC IMAGE. The prophesied bearer of the relic had now come, and the time of DIVINE RETRIBUTION was at hand. MYTHIC IMAGE make their return to EATBRAIN with DIVINE RETRIBUTION. The four-track EP burns with the sonic fury that its name suggests and with these sonics MYTHIC IMAGE rally the fervor of the EATBRAIN horde beneath their unmistakable auditory countenance as they unleash DIVINE RETRIBUTION upon dancefloors far & wide. Nothing Iz Sacred is a statement, a collection of tracks that resist the pull of the fleeting, throwaway nature of todays music scene. In an age where everything is often stripped down, consumed, and discarded, this 8-track LP stands as both a nudge and a reminder-a poke at the culture that surrounds it - it isnt here to blend quietly into the background, nor to satisfy the urge for quick hits and shallow thrills. Each track on the LP is woven with the sounds and textures Workforce has become known for, yet theres a rawness here-a willingness to push boundaries, to blur the edges of genre and style. The LP is a blend of the familiar and the experimental, where thoughtful moments meet jagged beats, and where soulful undertones collide with darker layers. Its a space that resists easy categorization, daring listeners to explore without expectation, to find meaning in the spaces between the sounds. This isnt a record designed for the disposable playlists of tomorrow; its for those who know that music can mean more, and who understand that it is meant to live with us, to grow, and to shape the communities around it. This record isnt about the chase for the next hit or the endless scroll; its for the ones who value artistry, who find culture in the smallest details, who want something real to hold onto. Nothing Iz Sacred is brought to life with the voices and musicality of some incredible collaborators. Tyler Daleys unmistakable warmth, Bobbie Johnsons sharp lyricism, Tamara Blessas haunting soul, Leroy Horns textured brass, and Ed Zucollos nuanced piano work all carve their own paths through the record. Together, they amplify the albums heartbeat, adding layers of richness and depth.
Its time to welcome Disorder to Gorilla Warfare. If youve been keeping up to date with your Caribbean-flavoured junglist skank-outs over the last couple of years, youll already have this producer on your radar. But, if not, heres your opportunity to get to know. Flying the flag high for his native Austrias jungle and drum n bass community, Disorders been making a name for himself ever since he arrived on the scene a couple of years back. Now, delivering the stomping bass of the Subline-collab Rudeboy Calling, the stripped-back Jimmy Danger-laced Run Dat, and the Longman-featuring syncopated slammer Gun Shy, this EP is poised to introduce this artist to more selectors USBs than ever before. So, remember the name. And watch out for Disorders riddims smashing up a dance near you. For licensing & label enquiries, please contact Martin Flex: martin@hotcakesmusic.com

One day from the depths of space had hurtled a brilliant streak of light above the jungle sky, a piece of cosmic debris born of another world that fell to the surface of the isolated planetoid with blinding flair. Impacting within the dense foliage of the planetoids vast cloud forests, the alien object emitted a thunderous sound unlike any that had ever been uttered there before. To this, the inhabitants of the forest responded with both awe and curiosity, and from the valleys below they set off on an expedition to discover the source of such sonorous power. Upon reaching the lost artifact, the expedition marveled at its sheer size and construction - a gigantic metal enclosure that housed a conical form of an impossibly smooth material. Stranger still, the sky-fallen device would intermittently emit another sort of thunderous sound from within its core, shaking the bodies of all those who stood before it with what seemed to be an echo of its impact upon the planetoids surface. To the members of the expedition, such a cosmic source of sonic power could have been brought to them only by the divine provenance of their chief deity, the selfsame who brought rains and created similar booming sounds in the skies above their home. This finding redoubled in those gathered their faith in this great deity, and with resolve to haul this massive gift it had bestowed upon them back to their home valleys below, the worship of his BASS CULT had begun. MNDSCP debuts the first single from his forthcoming album with BASS CULT as the EATBRAIN veteran calls the labels horde to gather before his altar of auditory expertise, preparing them for the onslaught of low-end frequencies that is yet to come. written by Gwen Kubik

In a scene that often leans towards the predictable, How They See It cuts through the noise with its own wonky and uncompromising energy-a dancefloor-driven, experimental drum and bass masterpiece that challenges the existing conventions of the genre, whilst retaining some the DNA for which it is known and loved amongst D&B fans. How They See It is the fourth and final single from Workforces forthcoming LP, Nothing Iz Sacred.
The Dispatch Blueprints series continues to celebrate the heritage sound of drum and bass, with two retro inspired cuts from the UKs new school - Trakker and Genic. As regular collaborators this exciting combination of artists who are known for their future thinking, technical productions packed with bags of funk, first appeared on Dispatch Recordings in 2023 with All That Matters. Not Be Cut Off is another killer collab, that matches deep rolling bass, with snarling acidic synths riding over tough stepping drums. Rich atmospherics blend through the vocal samples and upbeat bongos. Trakker delivers another deep cut for the solo Polyrhythms which pairs metallic reverb, snappy drum work with a monster bassline and risqué vocal cuts.
With the epic-scale intro arrangement, the pristine sample selection and processing, and the luxurious expertise of the mixdown and production, Override immediately reminds us the advanced level of studio science of which Tantrum Desire is capable. Blending a combo attack of bassline variants with high-voltage, energy-boosted drum programming, this is the sound of Tantrum Desire laying down a benchmark for 2025.
The Last Of A Dying Breed EP series returns with Volume 2, seeing NC-17 & Philth continue their collaborative celebration of tech drum and bass. Following the well-received first edition of this series of EPs, Volume 2 provides more of the grit and funk that defined the classic era of drum and bass - something that both NC-17 and Philth champion throughout their DJ sets and studio output. Layered, rolling, progressive tracks that deliver huge dancefloor appeal, matched with the crisp, technical production that both artists are known for.
