The birthday candles are barely out, and Melodize is already back with their 18th release! Label boss Beartrax is in the drivers seat, with remixes from Massimiliano Pagliara and Eliott Litrowski. Beartrax stays true to his sound, bringing Opaque and Sanctity—two deep, rolling cuts packed with lush violin melodies and a proper melancholic vibe. Massimiliano Pagliara flips Opaque into a punchy, bassy rework, infusing it with dreamy textures and an atmospheric depth. Meanwhile, Eliott Litrowski takes Sanctity into a darker realm, fusing indie basslines, electro grooves, and hypnotic new wave vibes for a trippy, heady experience.
To set the tone, Berlin-based producer Rotciv makes his return to Melodize with Altered State: this track combines a driving, EBM-inspired bassline with a progressive build, blending trippy, atmospheric and acid-infused sounds. The bar is set high! Next, Berlins PCL steps in with I Want a Bad Girl, a track that fuses new wave and Italo disco. Expect a chunky bassline, shimmering 80s-style synth melodies, and irresistibly groovy rhythms. Dutch producer Laion turns up the intensity with an exquisite indie dance track that balances phat grooves, lush melodies, and beautifully layered harmonies. This ones guaranteed to leave its mark. Spanish duo Undo & Casiowaves take the mood in a different direction with their mesmerising electro-pop ballad. Melancholic yet uplifting, the track features vocals and guitars reminiscent of The Cure, creating an atmospheric lullaby that invites you to close your eyes and drift away. Berlins rising star Micropacer follows with a dazzling homage to Daft Punk. Featuring vocoded vocals, sleek synth arpeggios, classy bass transitions and an enchanting melody that lingers in your mind, Armin truly delivers. Switching gears, British producer Louis de Tomaso delivers Aurora, a powerful track that epitomises his signature style. Combine a hefty bassline, layered synth leads, lush pads, and an unrelenting rhythm, and you get a powerful, tension-filled piece rooted in EBM. Crossing the Channel, French producer Back From The Wave brings us Saturated Love, evoking the early sounds of Scratch Massive and The Hacker. Its a dark yet delicate track brimming with emotion and sonic depth. Another well-known French artist, Nhar, takes over with Subspace, a deep and captivating track driven by a strong offbeat bassline and sublime pads. Evoking Balearic sounds, its a piece that will transport you straight to Café del Mar. Finally, the compilation wraps up with label boss Beartrax himself, who delivers Discrepancy. Happy Birthday, Melodize!
