The question is simple: what, precisely, is the before? Is it a beginning, a precursor, a shrug of inevitability? Or is it just a cheeky way for time to tell us it has no clue either? When before feels like it is about to deliver a profound statement. It never does, of course, but the anticipation is half the fun. Midway through though the realisation hits that you already left the before and are now undeniably heading towards the after. Each moment making you second-guess what you just thought. Might this actually be the middle? Or just another before? Before the After doesnt solve the riddle it poses—it revels in it. This is for those who enjoy pondering the infinite while lost in the pulse of the present in a speed 42 BPMs less than you thought. After all, whats the rush? And after the fact, it features a stellar remix by none other than Arjun Vagale.
Ferhat Albayrak welcomes back MarAxe for his third personal EP on Jeton called Progress. The three-track release is centered around the title track, Progress, inspired by a late-night conversation between MarAxe and a close friend. Reflecting on his journey as a producer, DJ, and label owner, the idea of progress became a central theme—not just in music, but in life. That spark carried straight into the studio. Using a blend of hardware like the Roland TR-8S, Behringer Edge and TD-3, along with software tools such as U-HE Diva and Cubase stock synths, MarAxe shapes a hypnotic yet driving sound. The result is a release that captures both introspection and forward motion—deep, rhythmic, and intense. Every track name nods back to that one inspiring conversation, making this release personal, meaningful, and a true reflection of growth.

ROOM047 / Ben Reymann Voltage & Memory Marking his first solo release on Room Trax, Ben Reymann presents Voltage & Memory, a four-track EP that balances emotional gravitas with club precision. The opening track Distress sets the tone with a cavernous, rolling energy—dark, texturized, and deeply physical. Built on a driving low-end and minimalistic structure, each element locks in with precision, creating a brooding yet highly functional techno piece. From there, Meeting in the Dark shifts into a dreamlike meditation, opening with soft padded atmospheres and robotic, Japanese vocals that gently guide the listener inward. Theres a taste of melancholy nestled within its rhythmic structure, a track that lingers more like a moment than a motif. Warmth & Sentiment takes that emotional tension and stretches it across a broader dancefloor context—still dreamy, but now more grounded and diverse in its expression, offering a powerful follow-up that expands the EPs scope. Finally, Dissolve arrives as a perfect closer: majestic pads open the piece, slowly lifted by a faded broken beat, until a ghostly vocal emerges, carrying the whole to its emotional peak. With a Burial-esque sensibility and a DnB-influenced pulse, it ties together the narrative arc with depth and closure. Voltage & Memory explores emotion and atmosphere—an EP that moves with intention, opening up new dimensions within Ben Reymanns ever-growing catalogue.
Every track within Lakejs monumental EP for Gordo Trax presents itself as a form of living colony, with sounds merging together like an organism cluster, gaining life in unimaginable, borderline terrifying ways, larger than the sum of their parts Contemptor, with its intricate buzzing, generates swarm patterns around a comb-like grid, every stinger pointed towards you and ready to discharge at the sight of foul movement. Much like modular organisms, these pieces have indeterminate growth forms, and seem to be ever changing, agile. In the shape of hands being patent demonstrations of this constantly mutating dynamic, that culminates in the fractal constructions of Process Formula and the ever potent, venom-fanged Stand Off The eusociality of this colony presents in the form of its two remixes, with SCHRZØ remix resemblant of protist organisms, with a charging beat covered in slime-like foley, and Finalversion3s take buzzing around like a bat nesting cave, both filled with an ominous aura and rich with alien life.
